Answer:
Pure Air Information
The Pure Air icon flashes when the air cartridge needs to be replaced. This occurs after 365 days of use while the unit is on and the air filter is on, or if the bulb inside the cartridge burns out.
No harm will be done to the Sub-Zero unit if the air filter is not replaced or not used.
Pure Air Icon Is Flashing
If the Pure Air icon flashes intermittently, replace the air filter, and then press and hold the Pure Air control for five seconds to reset the timer.
